DESCRIPTION:The Inner West Symphony Orchestra (IWSO) invites you to an afternoon of music\, storytelling and a bit of the unexpected. \nDukas’ rousing brass ‘La Peri Fanfare’ will open the show\, leading us into Brahms’ boisterous ‘Academic Festival Overture’. \nFrom there we’ll take you on a tour of the orchestra through two classics: Prokofiev’s ‘Peter & the Wolf’\, a timeless favourite and a masterclass in how music can tell a story\, and Britten’s ‘Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra’\, which explores each section of the orchestra through lively variations. \nYou’ll have to strap yourselves in for our grand finale\, as we will be bringing you the ‘Super Mario Galaxy Symphonic Suite’\, a full orchestral tribute to this iconic gaming soundtrack. \nWe’re also thrilled to be performing Handel’s ‘La Rejouissance’ with special guests\, musicians from Footscray City Primary School! \nJoin us on Sunday\, 27 April at Williamstown Town Hall. Doors open at 1:30 pm\, concert at 2 pm. \nLight refreshments available.
