IWSO presents: MYTHIC

Join the Inner West Symphony Orchestra for MYTHIC, a musical exploration of Australian contemporary works celebrating the power and beauty of our natural world. Highlights will include Elena Kats-Chernin’s imagined journey into the depths of an underground cave, Katy Abbott’s ethereal ‘Stars that Split the Night’ for massed choir and orchestra (featuring special guests Grace Note Singers), and the premiere of the IWSO’s own George Barsoum’s ‘The Secret Lives of Bushland Creatures’.
The program will also take us beyond these shores, with Beethoven’s rousing overture to ‘The Creatures of Prometheus’ and Elgar’s lyrically descriptive song cycle ‘Sea Pictures’, showcasing contralto (and IWSO cellist) Sophie Cowall.
Doors open at 1:30 pm. Concert starts at 2 pm and includes an interval.
